BMI develops selected biomedical innovations for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and will be a significant supplier of biomedical innovations and products related to treatment of heart diseases. BMI has a strong management team with international experience and networks and with excellent access to research capabilities in its close connections with universities and university hospitals in the Oslo area, which contribute to almost 70% of all biomedical research in Norway.

The company was established in the summer of 2004 with a strong portfolio of early stage innovations transferred from Medinnova (the research commercialization unit of Rikshospitalet) and from Oslo Research Park.
